The LEGO Jurassic World Indominus Rex Breakout Set is based heavily off of the blockbuster movie Jurassic World. The movie was the latest in the Jurassic Park franchise of movies that has captivated children and adults all over the world. In Jurassic World your child was introduced to a brand new dinosaur: Indominus Rex.

In the movie, Indominus was able to escape the heavily fortified enclosure to wreak havoc on the island. The creators at LEGO put together a building set that brings the experience of the movie right to your child’s imagination. The best part of the LEGO building set experience is the assembling of the enclosure, which gives them the sense of accomplishment. Then they will have many hours of fun time playing with the Indominus Rex.

The LEGO 75919 Jurassic World Indominus Rex Breakout Set features 1156 pieces and it includes four major components; Indominus Rex, Enclosure, Helicopter and Gyro Sphere. Since it is a LEGO building set your child will have plenty of building to do in order to be able to play.

Indominus Rex LEGO did a nice job recreating Indominus Rex and it stands 6” tall and has moveable jaws, front and rear legs.

Enclosure The Indominus Rex Enclosure is a three level structure that includes a large observation deck. It also includes a working feeding cane and food pallet for safely lowering of the food for Indominus. It has working main door, which opens and closes manually.

Helicopter

Helicopter It has a cool helicopter that seats a single mini-figure and twirling main and tail rotors for added realism. (if you buy this set along with 75916 Dilophosaurus Ambush, you will actually wind up with two of the spheres.)

Gyro Sphere The Gyro Sphere looks really similar to the one in the movie, except it only seats a single mini figure. The seat inside rotates as the sphere rolls across the table or floor of your child’s room. It is just over 2” across opens on side to place the mini figure inside.

Mini LEGO is famous for its mini figures that it puts in every set it builds. The figures as decorated in themes to match the specific set they are used in. This set includes four unique mini figures to represent Dr. Wu, Vet, Zach and ACU.

It also includes some extra accessory pieces to round out the set like; a couple chicken legs (food), boxes to hold the food on the pallet, rifle ...etc.

LEGO did a good job of recreating the fearsome Indominus Rex from Jurassic World and even did an amazing job with the enclosure that was designed to contain the beast in the movie. That is the great thing about Lego building blocks, they can be assembled in many different ways that can replicate real life structures with amazing detail.

Pros:

• unique Indominus Rex, extremely detailed with printing running through its entire body, its mold will probably never be used again, unless another Jurassic World movie and LEGO set come out
• Gyroshpere, super happy LEGO managed to find a way to create it, it actually rolls forward without much pushing at all, figure inside is "protected" and is kept upright
• paddock comes with crane, helipad, small helicopter, Dr. Wu's lab, opening front gate, another fence that can be broken down

Cons:

• overpriced for only 4 minifigures and 1 dinosaur
• only 2 minifigures (Dr. Wu and Zach) are star characters from the show
